These terms apply to consumer purchases made through the Doodles & Scribble website. Please read them before ordering. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. Who you are buying from
Doodles & Scribble is the trading name used for this online store. The current trader and direct contact details are shown on this page. You can also reach us through the contact page.
2. Products and product information
We take reasonable care to describe products accurately. Screen colours, print placement, textile texture and small manufacturing tolerances can vary. A reasonable production variation is not the same as supplying something materially different from its description.
Product-specific size and measurement information should be checked before ordering. See the Size Guide.
3. Placing an order and forming the contract
The checkout gives you an opportunity to review the items, delivery information and price before payment. By placing an order you offer to buy the items shown. A contract is formed when we accept the order and send confirmation of that acceptance, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.
If we cannot accept an order, for example because a product is unavailable, there is an obvious pricing error, payment cannot be authorised, a delivery destination cannot be served or we reasonably suspect fraud, we will tell you and refund any amount taken for the unaccepted order.
4. Prices, delivery charges and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless the site clearly states otherwise. Delivery charges and other mandatory charges that apply to the order are shown before you submit payment. We do not add undisclosed mandatory charges after checkout.
Payment is handled using Stripe. Payment or authorisation may be taken as part of placing the order. A payment being authorised does not require us to accept an order we are legally entitled to refuse; if we do not accept it, the relevant payment will be cancelled or refunded.
5. Availability and production
Many Doodles & Scribble products are produced after an order is placed. Product availability can therefore depend on current garment, colour, size and fulfilment-provider availability. If a selected option becomes unavailable, we will contact you rather than silently substitute a materially different product.
6. Delivery
Delivery information is set out on our Shipping & Delivery page and forms part of the information provided before purchase. We are responsible for consumer goods until they are delivered to you or a person you nominate, except in the limited situation where you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer.
7. Cancelling an online order
For standard, non-personalised goods bought online, consumers normally have a 14-day cancellation period beginning after receipt of the goods, followed by a period in which to return them. Full practical details and an optional model cancellation form are on our Returns & Order Issues page.
The fact that a standard catalogue item is produced after the order is placed does not, by itself, remove the statutory cancellation right.
8. Personalised and customer-specification products
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised. If we offer a feature that lets you supply artwork, names, images or other custom instructions, a product made specifically from that material may fall within this exception.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for any content you ask us to reproduce. You must not submit unlawful, infringing or harmful material. We may refuse custom content where we reasonably believe producing it would breach the law or another person's rights.
9. Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
Goods must meet the standards required by consumer law, including being as described and of satisfactory quality where those requirements apply. If something is faulty, damaged, materially misprinted, not as described or incorrect, contact us. Your remedies are governed by your statutory rights and can include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.
10. Refunds
Refunds are made in accordance with the applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the return. For a valid statutory cancellation of standard goods, this normally includes the price paid and the least expensive standard delivery option we offered. We may make a lawful deduction for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods.
11. Intellectual property
The Doodles & Scribble name, site design, original artwork, graphics, product imagery and site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law unless stated otherwise. Buying a physical product does not transfer copyright or other intellectual-property rights in the artwork.
You may use the website for personal shopping and ordinary browsing. You must not copy, scrape, reproduce or commercially exploit protected site content without permission or another lawful basis.
12. Website availability and misuse
We may maintain, update or temporarily suspend parts of the website. You must not attempt to interfere with security, gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code or use the service unlawfully.
13. Our responsibility to consumers
We do not exclude responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses where you are purchasing wholly as a consumer.
14. Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control where the law allows this. If a significant delay affects your legal right to end the contract, that right is not taken away by this clause.
15. Complaints and dispute resolution
Please use the contact page first so we can investigate a complaint. If we give you a final response to a consumer dispute and the law or a binding scheme requires us to provide information about an accredited alternative dispute resolution arrangement, we will give you the relevant details at that time.
You can also obtain independent consumer guidance from the Citizens Advice consumer service at citizensadvice.org.uk.
16. Law and courts
These terms do not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections that apply where they live. Any dispute will be dealt with by a court that has jurisdiction under the applicable consumer and civil-procedure rules.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future use of the site and future orders. We will not retrospectively rewrite the agreed terms of an existing order simply by publishing a new website version.
18. If part of these terms is unenforceable
If a court or other competent authority decides that one provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as the law permits.
